What I've Been Up To...

I've been cleaning out my room because we are painting and putting down hardwood floors!! Yay! I've always wanted hardwood floors in my bedroom! I never knew I had this many books hiding in corners though...

This is a shelf that I'm painting to match my new room.  My cat, Marvin, wanted to help me paint it.

Started painting! It's weird because that isn't the color the walls turned out to be.  They turned out a darker brown. I love it though!

I found these treasures at a local thrift store! I fell in love with them and thought they would go perfect in my room! I also found a solid wood chest to put at the end of my bed.

And finally...I HAD to fit in some time between painting to make a few cowls, that are now listed in my etsy store! http://www.etsy.com/shop/CaitlinMichelle?ref=si_shop

What I'm Working On

I found this really cute pattern the other day when I was looking for yarn and I thought my sister would really like it. So I decided to make it for her for Christmas!

The cables in this pattern are so pretty! I just recently started doing patterns with cables and I love the way they look and they are so easy to do!

It's a pretty simple pattern. It's just a sequence of eight rows that you repeat. You can find the pattern here: http://www.redheart.com/free-patterns/pull-through-wrap-0

New Cowl Listed on Etsy!

I made this cowl using I Love This Yarn! yarn in Brown, Pumpkin Spice, Sea Blue and Ivory Sparkle.  I love how it turned out! It looks like an Aztec print!

Check it out on my etsy page!

Family Get Together

Last night we had the first family Christmas of the year. Only two more to go! Haha.  I snapped a few pictures of the festivities.  We all had a good time and ate lots of good food!

On another note, I'm almost finished with my custom order! Yay! I just have to sew buttons on the sweater and sew the booties together! If i never see red yarn again, it'll be to soon! Haha. After I get done doing that, I've got to knit a scarf for the preacher's wife at church and finish my sister's really cute pull-through wrap.  I was trying to hide it from her and not tell her what I was making, but I just couldn't do it any longer! It's too cute and I had to tell her! I LOVE making Christmas presents for people!

Knitting and Christmas!

Today I have Christmas with my Mother's Dad and Stepmother! And then we have family in on my dad's side. Plus I have GOT to finish this custom order! Busy day ahead. Here's what I've got finished so far though:

All I have left to do on this sweater is tuck in the ends and put sleeves on it!

Here's the front of the newborn dress. I coulnd't find a pattern with longsleeves, like the customer asked for, so I had to add sleeves to one that I had found.

This is the back of the dress. I just love the little buttons. :)

I also have the hat finished and I have to make two white flower clips to go with it. Then I'll be done! Woo!
Well I've got to go and work on this until we have lunch with the family. I'll try to post pictures of the Christmas party tomorrow!

Christmas Lights and Santa Claus!

Last night I took a much needed break from knitting Christmas gifts. Me and My best friend Haley took her two precious kids to see Christmas lights and Santa Claus! They loved it, but I think Haley and I had more fun then they did! Here are a few pictures I snapped along the way.

We got to walk through this really cool light tunnel to get to Santa!

Me and Haley.

Sweet Brylee.

Brody was TOO excited :)

And we finished the night off with the best pepperoni and peach pizza from Johnny's Pizza! Yum!

A Handmade Christmas

This is my stash of yarn for Christmas presents that I have to finish in a week, plus a custom order for a baby sweater, dress, hat, booties, and 2 flower clips! Can you say BUSY? And I had finals to study for this last week. Thank goodness that's over! Now I've got to get busy knitting my fingers to the bone! :p

I've already finished the mustard set of a button-up cowl, hat, and fingerless gloves. And I thought I'd never get finished with the lime green and purple hat and scarf! I did though! She loved it! She didn't take it off the whole time I was there :)

I've almost finished the baby dress, but I've still got a lot to do! Wish me luck!
